Hello Everyone,
I did my first speed work in a long time yesterday, and I've been thinking about chilling on the hills a bit. But it's that time of year! The Woodminster run is coming up on June 18th. So for those of you not ?enjoying? the Dipsea, we offer a tour of this venerable East Bay course. Learn the turns, scout the hills, duck the downed tree, figure out how to avoid the poison oak, and get down Palos Colorados!
Meet at the parking lot of the ranger station, Sanborn Dr, Joaquin Miller Park.
Directions: Access is from Highway 13 in Oakland. From Berkeley, take the Joaquin Miller Rd. exit. Turn left at the end of the ramp and left at the next intersection. Go straight at the next stop sign and you will be on Joaquin Miller Rd. From San Leandro, take the Joaquin Miller Rd. exit and turn right at the end of the ramp onto Joaquin Miller Rd.
Once you are proceeding up Joaquin Miller Rd., look for a large wooden sign for Woodminster amphitheater on the left at an intersection. Note that Sanborn Dr. loops onto Joaquin Miller, so if you see an intersection as your going up the hill where Sanborn Dr. is closed off by a gate, you need to be further uphill on Joaquin Miller. You may park on Joaquin Miller Rd. or turn left onto Sanborn Dr. to park at the ranger station lot on the left.
Have a good weekend,
Mike
