Best of luck to those doing the real Woodminster Race this Sunday. As for the rest of us, we'll be in the vicinity, albeit exploring a different set of hills. We're meeting at MacDonald Gate off of Redwood Road to run towards the Bort Meadow staging area about 2.75 miles out. From there I believe we enter into Anthony Chabot Regional Park and run around there and back for a total of 8.5 miles. Hopefully Mike will have a better idea (right, Mike?), as I'll be pedaling my Dahon while my ankle mends.
Probably best if you bring water, as it'll be warm and there are no real water stops along the way.
DIRECTIONS:
Redwood Rd. can be accessed from Highway 13 in Oakland. From Highway 24 or the Berkeley area take Highway 13 south and take the Redwood Rd. exit. Take a left at the stoplight at the end of the ramp and continue up the hill on Redwood Rd.
From Dublin/ Castro Valley, take I-580 west to the exit for Highway 13 north. Take the Redwood Rd./Carson Ave. and proceed straight on Mountain Blvd. Turn up the hill at the stop sign to proceed to Redwood Rd. Take a right at the next light to continue up the hill on Redwood Rd. After you cross Skyline Blvd. at the top of the hill, MacDonald Staging area is about 2 miles on your right.
