Pac Striders June 4, 8:30am - Strawberry Canyon

Now that we're on the brink of summer, it looks like a good time to revisit Strawberry Canyon this Sunday. The out-and-back run tops out at 4 miles at Lawrence Berkeley, for a total possible run of 8 miles. (Of course, you can add more by running around Grizzly Peak at the top.) Although most of the run is shaded, there aren't any water stops to speak of, so be sure to have your hydration needs covered. We're meeting at the Strawberry Canyon Pool parking lot, which has more parking than the adjacent dirt lot.

DIRECTIONS: Access to Strawberry Canyon is off Centennial Rd., east of UC Berkeley main campus, in the hills just behind the campus. From I-80, exit at University Avenue. Proceed east on University Avenue then turn left on Oxford. Turn right on Hearst and go up the hill, then turn right on Gayley. Turn left at the stop sign onto Stadium Rim Way. and left again on Centennial Dr., which proceeds eastward up the hill from the back side of the stadium. Park at the Strawberry Canyon Pool parking lot on the right.

From Hwy. 13, exit at Ashby Ave. Proceed on Ashby, then turn right on College. Turn right onto Dwight Way, go up the hill and turn left onto Prospect. Proceed around the stadium (to your left) to the first stop sign. Turn right onto Centennial Drive, go straight for about a half mile and park at the Strawberry Canyon Pool parking lot on the right. Centennial Drive is also accessible from Grizzly Peak Boulevard (head south towards UC Berkeley).
