Your coordinators are back from Spring Break, slightly jetlagged but ready to tackle the next round of Sunday runs! This Sunday, join us for a run through Strawberry Canyon behind the UC Berkeley campus. The full out-and-back loop to the Lawrence Science Center is 8 miles total. No water stops along the way, although we may not need it if the sprinkles return (regardless, the trails should hold up nicely). We'll start from the Strawberry Canyon Rec Center parking lot, about 1/4 mile from the trailhead.
DIRECTIONS: Access to Strawberry Canyon is off Centennial Rd., east of UC Berkeley main campus, in the hills just behind the campus. From I-80, exit at University Avenue. Proceed east on University Avenue then turn left on Oxford. Turn right on Hearst and go up the hill, then turn right on Gayley. Turn left at the stop sign onto Stadium Rim Way. and left again on Centennial Dr., which proceeds eastward up the hill from the back side of the stadium. After about 100 yards is the Strawberry Canyon Rec Center lot on the right.
From Hwy. 13, exit at Ashby Ave. Proceed on Ashby, then turn right on College. Turn right onto Dwight Way, go up the hill and turn left onto Prospect. Proceed around the stadium (to your left) to the first stop sign. Turn right onto Centennial Drive, and after 100 yards enter the parking lot on your right. Centennial Drive is also accessible from Grizzly Peak Boulevard (head south towards UC Berkeley).
