The Grass is always greener,
when you can run it. Neither one of your intrepid coordinators can run it. But you will have the beauty of Northern Chabot Park to make up for the lack of our charming presence. We'll be at the start for moral support, and to get things started right.
There is no water or bathroom at the start, but both are available at the campgrounds about halfway. The trail starts a short way up Skyline Blvd. from the staging area. Go down Jackson Grade trail to the intersection at the bottom. Go right on Brandon and immediately right again just before the stone bridge onto the single track Cascade Trail. Continue down hill to the left as Cascade merges onto Columbine. At the bottom you will run along the stream bed for a short way and then come to the intersection with Bass Cove Trail. Turn left to go up hill on Columbine. stay to your right on Columbine until it ends on Honker Bay Trail. Turn left and in .25 miles you will hit the road and a water fountain. Bathrooms are further down the road. Proceed straight onto the road and look for Towhee trail going off on the right. Follow Towhee to take a left on Brandon Trail. Go across the road and continue on Brandon down to the stone bridge. Left up Jackson Grade brings you home.
