Pac Striders Weekend Run, Sun July 23, 8:30, Skyline Gate

Hi Everyone,
This weekend will be self guided, I will miss the run and Amy is still on injured reserve, so we picked familiar haunts. We suggest Sequoia Bay View, but we will leave it up to the democracy of the attending. If you decide to run Stream, be advised that Stream is closed at the bridge to the last picnic area. I would suggest turning off of East Ridge down Canyon to shorten up the first part of this run, because you will need to detour up Orchard or Chown off the Bridle Trail to use French. It's probably best to stay on French to West Ridge to lose the least amount of altitude, but you can drop back to Stream from French by taking a right onto Starflower and staying right on Tres Sendas near the bottom. If you stay on French you will hit Tres Sendas further along. Go right on Tres Sendas and continue on French by taking your next left. Turn right at the end of French onto West Ridge to return to Skyline Gate.

DIRECTIONS:

Skyline Gate can be reached from the Park Ave. exit off Highway 13 in Oakland. Heading north on 13, turn left at the stop sign at the end of the ramp onto Mountain Blvd. Turn right at the third light onto Snake Rd. Heading south on 13, take a left at the stoplight at the end of the ramp onto Park Ave., a left at the light onto Mountain Blvd., and a right onto Snake Rd. Proceed on Snake Rd. and go straight onto Shepherd Canyon Rd. where Snake takes a sharp left. Proceed up Shepherd Canyon (watch for the sharp hairpin right) until you reach a five way intersection at which you have a stop sign. Turn right onto Skyline Blvd. and look for the Skyline Gate parking lot 0.5 miles on your left.
