Pac Striders Weekend Run, Sun Nov 20, 8:30, Golden Spike

Hi Everyone,
I was hoping to do a new run this weekend, but I didn't get a chance to check out some of the trails beforehand. Instead, we will do the run that I meant to propose last week, but somehow I typed Grass Valley.
Golden Spike Trail begins at the staging area at Trudeau Training Center, 11500 Skyline Blvd. in Oakland. This 8 mile plus run has the advantage of water and bathrooms at the beginning and about halfway. You can also say high to the horseys! But save some of your breath for the fairly challenging climb up the West Ridge of Redwood Canyon on Chown Trail.
DIRECTIONS: From Hwy. 13 North, take the Carson St./Redwood Rd. exit. Go straight on Mountain Blvd, then make a hard right turn on to Redwood Rd. Go straight for about a mile, then turn left onto Skyline Blvd. and go straight for about a half mile until you reach Crestmont Drive. Turn right into the driveway of the Trudeau Training Center opposite Crestmont Drive (If you reach the intersection of Joaquin Miller Road and Skyline, you have gone too far.)

From Hwy. 13 South, take the Joaquin Miller Road/Lincoln Ave. exit. Turn left onto Monterey Blvd., and left again onto Lincoln Avenue. Bear right onto Joaquin Miller Road, and go straight for about a mile until you reach the intersection with Skyline Blvd. Go past this intersection and continue straight onto Skyline Blvd. until you reach Crestmont Drive; turn left across the road and into the driveway of the Trudeau Training Center.
