Pac Striders Sept. 4 8:30am - Strawberry Canyon, Berkeley (plus new blog!)

Today we enter the blogosphere with the premiere of our new Pacific Striders Weekend Run blog. Our weekend run updates are now posted at http://pacificstriders.blogspot.com. Of course you can still access our maps and directions (along with the blog) at our usual home at pacificstriders.org. Stop by and post a comment or two.

And now back to the run... For Labor Day Sunday, we will perform a civic duty by running up and down Strawberry Canyon. The trail was recently "renovated" to improve water drainage, and now it requires some feet to compact the loose dirt. This is an 8 mile out and back run, travelling up the Jordan Fire Trail to Lawrence Livermore Lab. We'll start at 8:30am at the Haas Pool parking lot, about 400m from the trailhead.

DIRECTIONS:   From I-80, exit at University Avenue. Proceed east on University Avenue then turn left on Oxford. Turn right on Hearst and go up the hill, then turn right on Gayley. Turn left at the stop sign onto
Stadium Way. and left again on Centennial Dr., which proceeds eastward up the hill from the back side of the stadium. Park at the Haas Pool parking lot, which is the first parking lot on the right.

From Hwy. 13, exit at Ashby Ave. Proceed on Ashby, then turn right on College. Turn right onto Dwight Way, go up the hill and turn left onto Prospect. Proceed around the stadium (to your left) to the first stop sign. Turn right on Centennial Drive, and park at the Haas Pool parking lot, which is the first parking lot on the right.
