We're still recovering from last week's hills, so we're going back to basics with a run on the Sequoia Bayview trail from Skyline Gate. The out and back loop is 7 miles, although optional add-ons like the Big Trees Loop can boost the mileage to 9 miles. Happy long weekend for those of you who have time off.
DIRECTIONS: Skyline Gate is located off of Hwy. 13. This highway is accessible via I-580 and Hwy. 24.
From Oakland, take Hwy. 13 North. Exit at Park Street. Turn left at Mountain Blvd. Turn right on Snake Rd. Continue straight onto Shepard Canyon Rd. Turn right on Skyline Blvd., and drive straight to the Skyline Gate parking lot on the left.
From Berkeley, take Hwy. 13 South towards Moraga Ave/Montclair District. Moraga Ave. becomes Mountain Blvd. Turn left on Snake Rd. Continue straight onto Shepard Canyon Rd. Turn right on Skyline Blvd., and drive straight to the Skyline Gate parking lot on the left.
