Join us this Sunday for a very special run at Strawberry Canyon. Why is it special, you ask? Because it's Mike's (early) birthday run! (I could claim my late birthday too, but this is really Mike's run.) Plus there's a rumor that Mike and Jessica will be running at the same time?! No way!
FYI Strawberry Canyon is an out-and-back run, those who reach the top at the Lawrence Berkeley Lab will achieve an 8-mile total run. Isn't that a great way to celebrate!
DIRECTIONS: Access to Strawberry Canyon is off Centennial Rd., east of UC Berkeley main campus, in the hills just behind the campus. From I-80, exit at University Avenue. Proceed east on University Avenue then turn left on Oxford. Turn right on Hearst and go up the hill, then turn right on Gayley. Turn left at the stop sign onto Stadium Rim Way. and left again on Centennial Dr., which proceeds eastward up the hill from the back side of the stadium. After about 100 yards is the Strawberry Canyon Rec Center lot on the right.
From Hwy. 13, exit at Ashby Ave. Proceed on Ashby, then turn right on College. Turn right onto Dwight Way, go up the hill and turn left onto Prospect. Proceed around the stadium (to your left) to the first stop sign. Turn right onto Centennial Drive, and after 100 yards enter the parking lot on your right. Centennial Drive is also accessible from Grizzly Peak Boulevard (head south towards UC Berkeley).
