Let's hope Sunday morning is one of those calm, clear mornings we've been getting lately. On such mornings, the great run around Lake Chabot turns into a magnificent journey reflected in a mirror lake. It is a run you will cherish.
We will meet at the Marina near the bathrooms at 8:30 or a little after. The course directions are : go counterclockwise and turn left. The loop is 9 miles, shorter distances can be accomplished out and back.
Directions
To reach the marina entrance from points east, take I-580 westbound to the Strobridge Avenue exit in Castro Valley. Turn right on Strobridge, right on Castro Valley Boulevard, and left on Lake Chabot Road. The Lake Chabot Marina is about two miles ahead on the right.
From I-880 take I-238 eastbound to I-580 eastbound, exit at Redwood Road in Castro Valley and go left, go left at Castro Valley Boulevard, and right at Lake Chabot Road. The Lake Chabot Marina is about two miles ahead on the right.
From I-580 in Oakland, proceed east and exit at 150th Ave. / Fairmont Drive. Go straight at the first stoplight at the end of the off-ramp and turn left at the second stoplight to proceed east on Fairmont (uphill). Keep going straight where Fairmont merges into Lake Chabot Rd. and the Marina entrance will be on your left.
