Pac Striders Feb. 5, 8:30am - Strawberry Canyon, Berkeley

For those looking for a breather before the Super Bowl, check us out at Strawberry Canyon for the out-and-back loop this Sunday. We're hoping that the trail's recent drainage upgrades will have held up to the recent rains. For those looking for something extra beyond the usual 8 mile loop, Mike will be going past the Lab to the lookout point atop Grizzly Peak trail.

DIRECTIONS: Access to Strawberry Canyon is off Centennial Rd., east of UC Berkeley main campus, in the hills just behind the campus. From I-80, exit at University Avenue. Proceed east on University Avenue then turn left on Oxford. Turn right on Hearst and go up the hill, then turn right on Gayley. Turn left at the stop sign onto Stadium Rim Way. and left again on Centennial Dr., which proceeds eastward up the hill from the back side of the stadium. After about a quarter-mile, pull into the Haas Pool parking lot on the right.

From Hwy. 13, exit at Ashby Ave. Proceed on Ashby, then turn right on College. Turn right onto Dwight Way, go up the hill and turn left onto Prospect. Proceed around the stadium (to your left) to the first stop sign. After about a quarter-mile, pull into the Haas Pool parking lot on the right.

Centennial Drive is also accessible from Grizzly Peak Boulevard (head south towards UC Berkeley).
