Pac Striders Weekend Run, Sun Jan 1, Mt. Tam or Inspiration

Happy New Year!
Oh, how cliche! Anyway, Eric Ellisen and George Foreman have organized their annual New Years Day run up Mt. Tam and your coordinators think this would be a great weekend run. Please let Eric or George know right away if you will be joining. See the information below.
Unfortunately, yours truly will need to stay closer to home. We have chosen Inspiration Point because of the waterproof asphalt path, 8 miles out and back. As we are finshing, we can wave to our comrades climbing the Mount across the bay. We'll call it an 8:30 start, but be patient!
Directions to Inspiration Point:
From downtown Oakland and points West: go thru the Caldecott tunnel on Hwy 24 to the Orinda/Moraga exit. Turn left at the stoplight onto Camino Pablo, which will turn into San Pablo Dam Rd. Proceed about 2 miles to the traffic light at Wildcat Canyon and Bear Creek Roads. Turn left onto Wildcat Canyon Rd. Go uphill 2.5 miles to the parking lot at the top of the ridge.

From Walnut Creek and points east: Head East on Hwy 24 take the Orinda/Moraga exit and stay right toward Orinda Village. Once on Camino Pablo, proceed as above.

From Berkeley/Albany, Wildcat Canyon Road can be accessed from Grizzly Peak Blvd. via South Park Dr. (closed right now) or Shasta Rd.

Folks:

Have attached the flyer for George Forman's and my annual run to the summit of Tam. This will be our eleventh year in a row hosting. It's a pretty casual affair and a fun way to bring in the New Year. Please call one of us to RSVP, and we'll see you in Fairfax on January 1st. (BTW, we carpool/caravan to the start at Lake Lagunitas; it's easier this way......)

Also, please circulate this flyer so we can assure a good turnout. Thanks, and happy holidays!
